
The medical staff at Private Clinic North provides our patients with the medical services and information necessary to assist in their recovery.
Medical Director: Private Clinic North has a medical director who oversees
all activities of the clinic medical staff. Our medical director, a certified
addictionologist, exceeds required qualifications of the state and federal
regulatory authorities for treatment of opioid addiction. Patients who
are addicted to opioids sometimes experience emotional as well as physical
changes due to altered brain chemicals as a result of addiction. The
Medical Director at this clinic is licensed by the State of Georgia in
the field of psychiatry, specializing in addiction medicine. A complete
mental evaluation is done by the Medical Director when the patient is
admitted.
Staff Physician: Our clinic also employs a staff physician, a fully-qualified doctor of osteopathy, licensed in the State of Georgia. This doctor provides dosing decisions and evaluations, performs extensive physical examinations, and provides professional referrals based on suspected or diagnosed co-occurring disorders.
Physician’s Assistant: The clinic employs a fully trained and certified Physician’s Assistant who performs physical exams and assists our medical director and staff physician.
Nursing Staff: Our nursing staff members work in the laboratory, pharmacy, and provide a number of other medical services. Our nursing staff is made up of certified, licensed professional nurses with many years of experience in the field.
Director of Pharmacy: Our Director of Pharmacy is a fully qualified and licensed pharmacist in the State of Georgia. He directs the day-to-day dispensing and administration of all patient medications and is responsible for the safe, patient-oriented operation of the clinic pharmacy.
Physical Examinations: Exams are done when a patient is admitted and annually thereafter. The exam includes a nursing assessment, bloodwork, TB skin test and an exam by the attending doctor or physician’s assistant. Referrals may be made based on results of physical exams.
Urine Drug Screens (UDS): Drug screens are performed on patients at the time of admission and thereafter as required by clinic, state, and federal rules. Some drug screens may be required on a random basis.
Pregnancy Tests: Females with childbearing potential are tested for pregnancy at the time of admission, at their annual physical, and at any time a pregnancy is suspected.
Other Medical Testing: Other medical testing that may be required is obtained by professional referrals which are issued to the patient on an as-needed basis.
