Counseling

Individual Counseling – All patients attending Private Clinic North receive individual counseling that is tailored to their unique needs.  Our team of professionally certified counselors are well equipped to provide counseling on opioid and opioid-related issues.  Non-opioid related issues are generally handled by well-researched referrals.  How often you will see your counselor depends on your length of time in treatment and how well you adjust to treatment requirements.

Group Counseling – Patients new to treatment are required to attend not less than four group sessions.  Group sessions allow patients to interact with one another, share their experiences, and to learn more about methadone maintenance and how it will benefit them while they are patients at Private Clinic North.

Family Counseling – Occasionally your counselor may ask that members of your family attend your counseling sessions.  This is done so that certain issues that may be affecting your treatment can be discussed, explored, and resolved.

Life Skills Guidance – Opioid addiction impacts all areas of an addict’s life.  We sometimes find that the person in recovery needs to learn or just be helped to remember how to budget money, search for a job, or manage the day-to-day affair of living.  We provide some very basic guidance and referrals for the management of life issues if the patient desires it.
